Charge RN - Emergency Department
About the Role
Join the Coastal Carolina Hospital Emergency Department (ED) team as a Charge RN. Our 16-bed unit specializes in providing immediate medical care for patients with severe or urgent illnesses or injuries, handling a wide range of services from initial assessment and treatment to stabilization and emergencies. The preferred patient ratio is 4:1.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate shift assignments by matching patient acuity levels with the specific skills and experience of available nursing staff.
- Supervise and mentor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, providing real-time clinical guidance and support for complex procedures.
- Oversee patient care plans, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure treatment goals are met.
- Serve as a clinical resource for the team, stepping in to assist with high-risk patients or emergency "Code" situations.
- Address patient/family concerns immediately, acting as the first point of contact for grievances or care quality issues.
Requirements
- Current unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina.
- Current BCLS and ACLS certifications; PALS is required.
- Advanced certification in specialty field and/or participation in professional organization(s).
- One year of clinical experience.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 2 Year / Associate Degree (preferred).
- 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
