Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital featuring a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the clinical and operational leader for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit during the assigned shift, ensuring safe, high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill and high-risk newborns.
• Provide direct oversight of daily patient care operations, staff coordination, resource allocation, patient flow, and clinical decision-making.
• Act as the primary clinical resource for the interdisciplinary team, partnering with Nurse Manager/Director of Women's Services, neonatologists, obstetric providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ancillary departments.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges; respond to neonatal emergencies and high-risk deliveries.
• Mentor and coach nursing staff; ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.
• Support performance improvement initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
• Function as a role model for clinical excellence and leadership while promoting the mission, vision, and values of Pascack Valley Medical Center.

Requirements

• Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved RN program.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• New Jersey Professional Registered Nurse license.
• NRP Instructor Certification.
• STABLE Certification.
• BLS certification (must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care).

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree.
• STABLE Support Instructor certification.

Pay

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
