Charge Preceptor RN, OP Oncology
About the Role
As a Charge Nurse, you will coordinate daily activities and distribution of work in your area during your scheduled shift. As a Preceptor Nurse, you will act as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent on direct patient care activities, with the remaining 20% dedicated to Charge-Preceptor duties. The balance between these roles may vary based on patient acuity and volume. You will work with a unit-specific patient population, providing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
This position requires setting priorities based on the situation at hand and combines direct patient care, management (charge), and education (preceptor) roles with responsibility for a unit during an eight (8) to twelve (12) hour shift.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree.
- Two (2) years of recent experience in current clinical specialty (e.g., critical care, surgical services, diabetes education, radiology, etc.).
- Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications relevant to specific units.
- Visual color acuity, depending on the role in specific units.
