Charge Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

About the role

The Telemetry Charge Nurse (RN) leads and coordinates patient care in a Cardiac Telemetry unit, providing direct nursing services and acting as a clinical resource for staff.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements complex care plans
• Assesses patient data to prevent deterioration
• Collaborates with the interprofessional team and families
• Facilitates evidence-based practice
• Promotes patient safety
• Strives to improve patient satisfaction and care quality
• Acts as a leader in clinical practice, supports practice change, and evaluates care standards
• Monitors patient outcomes and addresses care gaps
• Ensures safety and adherence to hospital protocols
• Oversees unit activities, leads care planning, mentors staff, and participates in quality improvement initiatives
• Maintains compliance with safety protocols
• Contributes to a positive patient and family experience

Qualifications & Skills

• RN license required
• 2-5 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
• BSN preferred
• 5-10 years of nursing experience (overall)
• Demonstrates leadership, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and patient safety standards essential
