Charge Nurse (RN) - Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Role: Responsible for overseeing a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) as a Charge Nurse (RN). Key Responsibilities Coordinate departmental functions, staffing, and scheduling for the unit.Act as liaison to internal and external stakeholders, including pre-hospital providers and hospital staff.Develop and implement plans to meet regulatory standards.Provide direct patient care according to established standards and supervise care delivered by RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.Assist in staff training, mentoring, onboarding, and ensuring competency completion.Manage customer service interactions, monitor staff performance, and address issues.Handle high-stress decision-making independently and assist with departmental budget management. Qualifications & Skills Registered Nurse license in the state, CPR, ACLS, and other certifications per specialty area.Minimum of two years relevant clinical nursing experience, with specific neonatal or ICU expertise preferred.Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to implement change.Management experience and certifications in specialty areas are advantageous.
