Charge Nurse- Surgical Oncology ICU
Full-time position, benefits eligible, 35.1 hours per week on a night shift.
About the Role
Join our dynamic 16-bed surgical/surgical oncology ICU, where exceptional, patient-centered care is delivered through teamwork, compassion, and innovation. Our nurses utilize advanced skills with a wide range of ICU equipment, invasive monitoring, complex wound care, and continuous therapies for critically ill patients. You’ll work alongside experts in diverse specialties, including vascular, ENT, transplant, surgical oncology, urology, emergency, bariatric, and trauma care, all while benefiting from ongoing education and research opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.
- Coordinate, delegate, monitor, and evaluate unit activities during assigned shift.
- Make staff assignments, serve as a resource to other staff, participate in performance improvement activities, and ensure standards of care are maintained.
- Represent nursing administration and provide patient care to a select group of patients through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
- 2 years of ICU experience preferred.
