About the Role
Provides direct clinical patient care during night shifts, responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care for assigned patients at the unit level. Supervises staff to ensure appropriate care delegation and maintains high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Coordinates and integrates patient care based on the nursing process, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and high-quality care with an emphasis on patient discharge readiness.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications safely and timely, adhering to hospital policies.
- Perform all Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) roles during emergencies, understand emergency codes, and respond appropriately.
- Ensure staff competency, support resource management, and maintain compliance with safety standards, risk management, quality improvement (QI), and infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
- Valid RN licensure.
- Required certifications: BLS.
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS, or NRP.
- At least one year of RN experience; recent acute care experience preferred.
