Charge Nurse ( RN ) Evening or Night

About the Role

Athens Health and Rehabilitation specializes in providing a home-like environment with professional nursing and therapy services for both long-term care and rehabilitation. Working nights or evenings here means caring for residents over time — allowing you to build deeper relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of each resident’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care during overnight or evening hours
• Assess, monitor, and document residents’ conditions and changes
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and RN protocols
• Collaborate with on-call providers, therapists, and the care team as needed
• Educate residents and families on health conditions and care plans
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Foster a safe, clean, and therapeutic nighttime environment
• Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and direct care staff

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
• New grads encouraged to apply
• Experience in geriatric care, long-term care, or rehabilitation nursing preferred
• Strong understanding of clinical protocols and state/federal regulations
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Compassionate, resident-first approach to care
• BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS a plus)
