Responsibilities

• Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift.
• Provides clinical care as needed when census demands.
• Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s).
• Serves as a resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.

Requirements

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required).
• 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting (Required).
• 2 years or more of nursing experience in a hospital setting (Preferred).

Qualifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNLC Multistate Licensure (Required).
• BCLS - Basic Life Support (Required).
• ACLS Certification (Required for Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery).
• PALS Certification (Required for Emergency Department).
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Required for Infusion/Oncology).
• NRP by the end of orientation period (Required for Women's Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery).
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Required for Labor and Delivery within 1 Year).
• PEARS Certification (Required at Piedmont Athens Hospital).
• PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Required for Surgical Services).
• ACLS and PALS Certification (Required for Emergency Department).
• ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Required for Surgical Services).
• Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification.
