Charge Nurse - Medical Surgical ICU Nights

Role Overview: Provides nursing leadership during a designated shift in a Medical Surgical ICU, supervising staff, ensuring safe patient care, and managing unit operations. Key Responsibilities Supervises, mentors, and assigns staff based on availability, skills, census, and patient acuity.Provides direct patient care as needed and assists with problem-solving across staff.Evaluates patient care effectiveness, addresses complaints, and manages transfers, admissions, and discharges.Ensures staff have necessary equipment and supplies, and performs role-specific tasks within scope.Uses critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required within three years of assuming the role.Current licensure as a Registered Nurse, with Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and PALS certifications.Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
