Position Overview: Responsible for leading and coordinating staffing in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) to ensure delivery of quality patient care. Managed by a team of intensivists, the unit provides specialized care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs. Key Responsibilities Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts. Contribute to performance evaluations.Assess patient care needs and develop appropriate care assignments.Evaluate patient care effectiveness and address issues impacting outcomes.Respond to care-related complaints and manage through established channels.Provide input on staff hiring, training, development, and evaluation. Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.Current BLS certification required within 30 days; ACLS and PALS may be required within six months depending on unit.Diploma from an accredited nursing program with at least one year of relevant experience. Skills: Leadership, staffing coordination, patient care assessment, communication, and staff development skills.
