Charge Nurse - Critical Care

About the Role

Provide clinical leadership in a Stepdown/Critical Care unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Assign and supervise nursing staff, assess patient care needs, develop and evaluate care plans, and collaborate with providers to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise nursing staff in daily operations
• Assess patient care needs and develop individualized care plans
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective care delivery
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care and adjust plans as needed
• Respond to patient care concerns and address complaints
• Support staff development through training and performance evaluations
• Monitor patient care and outcomes in a critical care setting
• Maintain safety standards and contribute to staff hiring and training

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or compact state)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BLS and ALS (or equivalent) certifications
• ICU experience required
• Training in CRRT, Impella, or IABP preferred
• Strong critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills

Physical Demands

• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to lift and move patients or equipment
• Visual and auditory acuity for patient monitoring
