Character Animator - WFS

Description Summary/objective: The Wingfeather Saga Animated Series at Angel Studios is looking for a CG Character Animator who is passionate, collaborative, and able to create high-quality character animation. This person will work with a variety of CG assets within Unreal Engine. The CG Character Animator will work with rigged characters and props to advance assigned shots through animation and will report directly to the Animation Director. Essential Functions Character AnimationCreate impactful & compelling performancesMatch the show animation styleReact and accommodate notes and revisionsDeliver footage quantity at or exceeding scheduled quotaAll other responsibilities assigned by Animation Director and Animation CoordinatorMust attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings.Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in the English language required. Requirements Competencies Demonstrated proficiency with the principles of animation, including timing and the dynamics of animals and human figures in actionAbility to present work and communicate openly with artistic and studio leadershipOn-the-fly problem-solving ability with fellow animatorsWhere applicable contribute to rig testing and character movement explorationStrong knowledge of each of the following technical areas:Animation principlesKnowledge of kinematics and physical behaviorsFile management systemsAn exceptional listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with Google Workspace.Detail-oriented perspective and able to pick up on overlooked details.Organization and time management. Able to maintain confidentiality of information.Must be able to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions.Resourceful and able to problem-solve and manage tasks with ambiguity. Willing to perform an array of tasks both in and out of the office.Can take feedback to tasks and assignments positively and create better solutions.A quick study, able to pick up new skills and learn how to use new programs.Must participate in setting and achieving regularly scheduled and outlined objectives. Work environment - When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned work environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy. Physical demands - Ability to sit at desk and use computer for prolonged periods of time Position type and expected hours of work - Regular full-time, 40 hours per week. Preferred Education And Experience Self-starterAnimation production experience, particularly with animated TV seriesBachelor's Degree preferredTennessee resident a plus. Role is remote.
