About the Role

Provide spiritual care and counsel to patients, families, and hospital personnel, as appropriate. Assist in organizing, coordinating, and monitoring Park Nicollet Health Services and Methodist Hospital spiritual care services. Engage in personal and group learning processes and comply with terms of the ACPE learning contract.

This position provides psychotherapy to patients and requires compliance with Minnesota Statute MS603 (formerly 148A).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-related growth and development principles to provide appropriate service and ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies affecting employment (including FMLA, ADA, discrimination, and harassment laws).
  • Operate personal computers, telephones, fax machines, photocopiers, printers, and electronic medical records proficiently.
  • Respect and accept religious, spiritual, and personal diversity.
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity and strong interpersonal skills with appropriate boundaries.
  • Understand and articulate the grief process.
  • Understand the rationale, content, and techniques of documentation.
  • Adhere to professional ethics and work within that framework.
  • Exhibit leadership, professional accountability, and personal awareness.

Requirements

  • Ministry experience and theological education.
  • Resident: Minimum 1-unit ACPE accredited CPE (unless waived by ACPE Certified Educator).
  • Intern: 1 year into a theological program.
  • Completion of standard ACPE application materials.
  • At least three recommendations from academic and denominational authorities.
  • Denominational/ecclesiastical endorsement or equivalent.
