Chaplain Resident

About the role

As a Chaplain Resident at Novant Health, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients and their loved ones by addressing their unique spiritual, emotional, and social needs. This residency offers a dynamic blend of hands-on clinical experience and structured educational opportunities aligned with ACPE standards and the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and emotional care to patients, loved ones, and team members.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and local/market meetings to enhance clinical learning and patient experience.
• Serve in weekly on-call rotations, as scheduled.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree or an equivalent degree or equivalent graduate degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one unit of ACPE accredited CPE; preferably in a healthcare setting, preferred. Roles requiring communication across disciplines, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Connected with a faith community to potentially, required. Seek endorsement, commissioning, and or ordination, required.

Qualifications

• Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.

• Experiences in group learning;
• Experiences in providing care to persons of all faith traditions and/or differing belief systems;
• Experiences of working within the healthcare setting.
