Chaplain-Resident

About the role

Provides for the provision of spiritual care to patients/families/caregivers and staff for the Medical Center. Also works through the Pastoral Care Department to provide pastoral care services to other areas of the Medical Center as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides spiritual assessment, care and support to patients, families and staff.
• Organize, coordinate, lead, and/or participate in worship services and rituals for the Medical Center.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team in assessing the holistic care needs of patients and families.
• Participate fully in the Clinical Pastoral Education educational curriculum.
• Serve as shift house chaplain to cover the pastoral care needs of the Medical Center after office hours.

• Education: Bachelors Degree from an accredited school
• Experience: Minimum 0 years

Qualifications

• Licensure or other certifications: None specified
• Education: Graduate level theological degree from an accredited school
• Experience: Prior experience in pastoral ministry in a congregational or clinical setting

Skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Theological and Behavioral Science understanding of human illness and suffering
• Awareness of cultural and religious understandings of illness and health
• Computer skills
