Job Summary
You will serve as a vital spiritual leader and compassionate caregiver within our hospital community, providing essential spiritual counseling and support to patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct spiritual, religious, and existential care, offering compassionate presence, support, and appropriate rituals to patients, families, and staff, especially during times of crisis or grief.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to advocate for spiritual needs and integrate holistic care, ensuring respect for diverse beliefs.
- Works collaboratively with members of the spiritual care department to build a cohesive, spiritually grounded and mutually formative team;
- Covers on-call and holiday shifts as scheduled based on department need;
- Establishes mutually respectful working relationships with staff and physicians from a variety of departments;
- Gathers and evaluates relevant information pertinent to the holistic care of patients and their families;
- Develops and implements spiritual care plans to promote the well-being of patients, including but not limited to crisis intervention, spiritual care and counseling, assistance with religious/spiritual rituals;
- Provides spiritual care and counseling for patients and their families in response to referrals and through proactive rounding;
- Documents assessments and interventions in the Electronic Medical Record.

- Required: Bachelors Other, upon hire and One unit of CPE (ACPE, NACC accredited), upon hire and None, upon hire
- PREFERRED: Two or more units of CPE (ACPE, NACC accredited), upon hire and Masters Other, upon hire
