Job Summary
Journey Hospice is seeking a per diem Chaplain to provide non-denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others, and/or caregivers in North Jersey (Essex County).
Responsibilities
- Provide non-denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others, and/or caregivers.
- Coordinate care with other spiritual counselors, including community clergy.
- Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor, communicate effectively, and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Work constructively with other healthcare team members and reflect concern for the well-being of patients and employees.
- Support the mission and vision of the organization by interacting positively and motivatingally with all staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of theology required.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 CPE credits from an accredited program preferred.
- Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with NJ requirements.
- One year experience in providing ecumenical approach in pastoral care and client/family counseling.
- Experience in home health or hospice is preferred.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of theology required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Clinical pastoral education training with a minimum of 2 to 4 CPE credits obtained from an accredited program preferred.
