About the role
The Chaplain II supports Program Ministries by providing high quality case management, care, counseling, spiritual leadership, and records management for program guests. Scheduled: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
Responsibilities
- Meet weekly with assigned program guests, ensuring they are meeting their assigned goals as required by their program and are adhering to program policies.
- Congest pastoral and crisis counseling when needed and recommend an appropriate plan of action.
- Develop and maintain professional-quality case management files.
- Meet weekly with supervisor and team to discuss status of assigned men and any pertinent program information.
- Record, report, and maintain thorough and comprehensive records and statistical information as required, including case management files and input into work therapy schedules and recovery programs.
- Maintain a safe, dignified, and clean environment in the dormitories.
- Use independent judgment regarding program guests’ discipline, including barring and existing based on recovery guidelines and management policies.
- Perform periodic drug screening as requested.
- Facilitate Genesis support groups and teach assigned curriculum (if applicable).
- Conduct intake interviews with prospective guests for the program.
- Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude.
- Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships which will serve as a leadership example for guests.
- Aid in the creation of meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers might serve in the organization.
- Interact positively and cooperatively with our volunteers.
- Participate in organizational meetings, training, and initiatives as required.
- Perform other duties assigned to support the Mission’s success.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
- Five (5) years of prior pastoral experience required.
- Work experience in rescue missions or with homelessness issues is highly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria required, including but not limited to: Clean driving record, have a License for at least one year, no current suspensions or revocations, clean driving record, at least 21 years of age.
Qualifications

Pay
Target starting pay: $27.25/hour
Schedule
Scheduled: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk, balance, twist, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, perform overhead work and reaches with hands/arm.
- Frequently work for extended periods of time in indoor and outdoor settings with varying temperature environment.
- Frequently uses judgement and memory to make decisions.
- Occasionally you will sit and keyboard.
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and walks, use stairways and climb to multiple floors carrying tools and equipment.
