Chaplain Decedent Care

About the Role

The Decedent Care Chaplain assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, their families, and team members related to decedent care. Acts as a liaison with clinicians, hospital services, medical examiners, the deceased patient's family, autopsy services, donor services, and funeral homes to facilitate the transition of the decedent from the hospital in a patient-centric and compassionate way, adhering to legal, state, federal, and regulatory guidelines. Documents in EPIC and decedent care-related programs/databases in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory and licensure requirements. Demonstrates teamwork and flexibility with schedule to ensure effective departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (Required)
  • Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (Required)
  • 1 year of fellowship/internship/residency in a related area (Required)
