Responsibilities
The Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) is a full clinical member of the health care team and is considered the lead expert in Spiritual Care issues. Provides services for the pastoral/spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff members. Knowledgeable in theology, spirituality, and pastoral care.
Requirements
- Certification is NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains) or APC (Association of Professional Chaplains) or NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains).
- Required Education is a Master's Degree from and Accredited University in Theology Related. 4 units, 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Required Ecclesiastical endorsement.
- Board Certified or eligible for Board Certification. Board Certification must be received in one year from date of hire/transfer date.
