Board Certified Chaplain

About the role

This position supports the Palliative Care department as a full clinical member of the health care team and serves as the lead expert in Spiritual Care issues. The Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) provides services for the pastoral and spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff members, and is knowledgeable in theology, spirituality, and pastoral care.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead expert in Spiritual Care issues within the health care team.
• Provide pastoral and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff members.

Requirements

• Certification from NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains), APC (Association of Professional Chaplains), or NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains).
• Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a theology-related field.
• 4 units (1600 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Ecclesiastical endorsement.
• Board Certification.
• Level II screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (managed by the Agency for Health Care Administration).

Schedule

• Full-time, exempt position.
• Shift hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Weekend work: None.
• On-call: No.
