About the role
This position supports the Palliative Care department as a full clinical member of the health care team and serves as the lead expert in Spiritual Care issues. The Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) provides services for the pastoral and spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff members, and is knowledgeable in theology, spirituality, and pastoral care.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead expert in Spiritual Care issues within the health care team.
- Provide pastoral and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff members.
Requirements
- Certification from NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains), APC (Association of Professional Chaplains), or NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains).
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a theology-related field.
- 4 units (1600 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Ecclesiastical endorsement.
- Board Certification.
- Level II screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (managed by the Agency for Health Care Administration).

Schedule
