What You’ll Do Provide Transformative Spiritual Care Support patients, residents, participants, families, and colleagues from diverse spiritual, cultural, and religious backgroundsAssess spiritual needs and respond with individualized, meaningful interventionsHonor and respect each person’s beliefs, values, and practices as part of the healing processOffer spiritual care during times of crisis, illness, grief, transition, and reflection Collaborate as a Clinical Team Member Partner with physicians, nurses, social workers, and care teams as a recognized clinical professionalDocument spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical recordObserve outcomes of care and adapt support to meet evolving needs Support Healthy Communities & Colleagues Develop and participate in spiritual care programs that promote community well‑beingCollaborate with faith leaders (churches, synagogues, mosques, and more) to support members receiving careEducate and coach colleagues to recognize and respond to spiritual distressPromote programs focused on workplace spirituality, resilience, and well‑being Live the Mission Model and integrate Trinity Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values in all interactionsParticipate in quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives alongside the Spiritual Care ManagerMaintain ethical, professional practice aligned with regulatory standards and organizational integrity Care for Yourself, Too Engage in ongoing personal formation, reflection, and self‑care to support resilience and healthy work‑life balance What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications Master’s degree in theology, religion, spiritual care, spirituality, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)At least 1 year of Spiritual Care experience, including CPE training (chaplaincy or health care ministry experience preferred)Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsComfort working in a collaborative, shared‑leadership environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems Preferred Qualifications Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) through APC, CASC, NACC, or NAJCIncludes a qualifying master’s degree, 4 units (1,600 hours) of ACPE‑accredited CPEFaith‑based endorsement from a recognized certifying body Key Strengths for Success Ability to design and implement spiritual care programs across the care continuumConfident communicator who can work comfortably with clinical terminologyA personal presence rooted in honesty, integrity, compassion, and inspiration Why Saint Alphonsus At Saint Alphonsus, you’ll join a mission‑driven organization where your calling is valued, your voice is heard, and your work truly matters.
