The Flint River Entertainment Complex, owned by the City of Albany and operated by OVG, is located in Albany, GA. It comprises three venues—the Albany Civic Center, the Albany Municipal Auditorium, and the Veterans Park Amphitheatre—hosting live events, banquets, meetings, trade shows, conferences, concerts, and more.
About the role
The Changeover Crew is a per-event employee responsible for room setups and auditorium conversions, ensuring smooth transitions between events. This role may also involve building maintenance tasks such as painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, and furniture moving. A positive attitude and appearance are essential.
Responsibilities
- Actively care for all equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
- Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by staff and management.
- Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events, including setting up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings.
- Respond to promoters'/clients' needs as directed.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Perform various duties to ensure day-to-day facility operations, such as loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash, and replenishing supplies.
- Assist with pre/post-event cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning.
- Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, garage, entrances, and event plaza.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, and servicing conversion-related equipment.
- Follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively with the team.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other departments, clients, and patrons.
- Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience with event changeovers is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.
- Must work safely and effectively, performing all essential duties satisfactorily.
- Ability to work under deadlines driven by event schedules and project timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Able to follow detailed instructions accurately while communicating clearly.
- Experience operating equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or other light power equipment (training and certification required).
- Work boots are required and must be provided by the employee; hard hats will be supplied by the arena when needed.
Pay
This role pays an hourly rate of $10.00 - $12.00.
