Role of the independent Chair

The role of the independent Chair is to lead the Cathedral’s Safeguarding Advisory Panel meetings, and to foster a positive safeguarding culture and ensure we are following Church policy and good practice guidance.

Safeguarding Culture

The postholder will be working for us on a consultancy basis, 5 days per year, for a term of 3 years initially. The current rate of pay is £400 per day and is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Requirements

The successful candidate will need to have:

• An independent perspective on safeguarding work
• Experience in leading advisory panels
• Knowledge of Church policy and good practice guidance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
