Location: Janesville, WI – onsite role.
About the role
We are seeking a CGD Engineer to support the development and execution of commercial-grade dedication (CGD) plans, qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities for items in support of the construction of the Chrysalis and other projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and provide reviews of CGD plans.
- Develop and provide reviews of qualification plans, considering the mechanical, electrical, radiological, and seismic effects for items being qualified.
- Interface with the Engineering organization to identify safety functions, failure modes, and use cases of items.
- Interface with Procurement and Construction organizations to understand how CGD tasks affect installation dates.
- Support the development of procurement strategies with Engineering and other Procurement staff, including the development of requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Complete commercial-grade surveys of vendors, as required.
- Generate Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports as required.
- Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or other technical field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the related field.
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.
- Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
- Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
- Ability to develop strong vendor relationships.
- Ability to work accurately and independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial-grade dedication (EPRI NP 5652).
- Experience in environmental qualification of equipment (e.g., electrical and mechanical aging, seismic testing in accordance with IEEE 344).
