CFO in Training

About the role

Aurora Behavioral Health Care offers a CFO in Training program designed to develop future financial executives for its behavioral health hospitals. This is an employed position, not an internship, where chosen candidates will work closely under the guidance of a Chief Financial Officer at either Aurora Behavioral Health System-West (Glendale) or Aurora Behavioral Health System-East. The program focuses on key business areas, including accounting, finance, and team management, to build expertise for a future Financial Executive role within Aurora Behavioral Health Hospitals.

The selected candidate must be willing to relocate to one of Aurora’s hospitals upon completion of the training program.

Responsibilities

• Gain expertise in accounting and finance functions within a behavioral healthcare facility.
• Develop and manage a successful team.
• Focus on key areas such as financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, payroll, FTE management, and revenue cycle.
• Work under the guidance of a Chief Financial Officer to learn strategies and objectives aimed at improving the hospital’s economic performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in accounting, economics, finance, or business administration; master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
• Previous experience in hospital financial management or significant public accounting experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
• Experience in finance and accounting areas such as Accounts Payable, payroll, accounting, FTE management, business office (Accounts Receivable/revenue cycle), financial reporting, or budgeting.
• Must be willing to relocate to another Aurora Behavioral Health hospital after completing the training program in Glendale or Tempe, Arizona.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical.
• Must be eligible for a fingerprint clearance card.
