CFO/Controller (Construction)

The Long-Standing Manhattan GC is seeking a CFO/Controller. This position is hosted by: Joshua Tacke.

A bit about us: We are a Manhattan-based family-owned general contractor with a strong history in affordable and mixed-income housing projects across New York City. We are expanding our finance team and are looking for a Controller/CFO who is passionate about making a difference.

Responsibilities

• Full finance leadership stack: month/quarter/year close, financial statements (internal and external), regulatory reporting, and accounting policy
• Budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making
• Day-to-day accounting oversight across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, job costing, and credit/collections
• Project finance coordination with Operations and Project Management
• Continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes
• Hiring, developing, and managing the accounting team

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years in construction accounting, including time in a Controller seat
• BA/BS in accounting or finance; CPA preferred (MBA/MS a plus)
• Deep fluency in GC finance mechanics, such as job costing, WIP, percentage-of-completion, and CCIP/OCIP environments
• Comfort building and tightening controls, policies, and close processes inside a growing business
• Strong systems orientation; Sage 300 a plus, advanced Excel expected
• Proven leader of an accounting team — hires well, develops people, runs the function with rigor
• Clear communicator and natural business partner across operations, project management, and ownership
• Sharp analytical instincts paired with sound judgment and an operational bent

Salary

$200,000 - $300,000 per year
