CFO / Controller

About the role

ADFAC, LLC is a private investment partnership with offices in Honolulu and Los Angeles. The firm is seeking a finance leader to support Hawaiian Cool Water, a Honolulu-based water treatment and equipment leasing company, along with related business interests. This role offers the opportunity to serve as the primary financial partner to ownership while helping guide the company's financial operations and long-term planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly financial close process and financial reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance across accounting activities.
• Develop budgets, rolling forecasts, and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and lessor accounting for equipment leasing operations.
• Oversee banking relationships and cash management.
• Monitor loan covenant compliance.
• Partner with the external CPA firm on tax planning initiatives.
• Coach and develop the Accounting Specialist.
• Serve as the primary financial advisor to ownership.
• Support strategic financial decision-making and business planning.

Qualifications

• CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Big Four/Five public accounting experience is a plus.
• Hands-on controller experience with executive-level financial judgment.
• Strong understanding of recurring revenue metrics, including MRR, churn, and margin.

Benefits

• Compensation: $150–$165 per hour.
• Long-term 1099 independent contractor engagement.
• Time Commitment: Approximately 40–50 hours per month (9–12 hours per week).
