Responsibilities

• Conduct group exercise classes and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner
• Serve as a positive YMCA role model with an enthusiastic attitude
• Ensure all scheduled classes are held and sub coverage is secured
• Start and end classes on time
• Greet participants and learn their names
• Take class attendance
• Familiarize yourself with Upace Group Ex technology, including sub tracking system, class contact feature, and class cancellation
• Check and respond to your YMCA email in a timely fashion
• Identify participants’ limitations and adapt classes or provide modifications accordingly
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class
• Promote a healthy lifestyle
• Attend advanced training workshops offered throughout the year by YGBW or another co-op member YMCA
• Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Zumba certification
• Must be 18 years or older
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es)
• Possess and maintain at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
