Key Functions
- Perform Hold Point and In Process Inspections of welded joints.
- Ensure all inspection documents are created, completed, closed, and filed properly.
- Cookordination and planning all inspections in conjunction with production team lead and resident Inspectors.
- Maintain and review all quality control inspection documentation.
- Support the production team leaders the recording and resolution of non-conformities (BMs); identification of non-conforming product.
- Stop the production process if non-conformity affecting the quality of the finished product is detected in the production process.
- Perform non-destructive testing as required.
- Carry out and document the weighing of the finished car bodies.
- Perform and document dimensional inspection of components of sub-components and final product.
- Carry out and document in-process measurements and settings in accordance with the production schedule.
- Verify correctness of documentation for in-process dimensional checks.
- Perform and document visual and dye penetrant testing based upon requirements.
- Correct use of measuring instruments, preservation of their condition and monitoring of their calibration status.
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations including OHSA, FTA, and FRA regulations.
- Ensure compliance with the standards and requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22163 and 15085.
- Actively support continuous improvement by contributing to the effectiveness of the Quality Management System
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Solid understanding of local and international codes and standards.
- Print reading and measurement literacy.
- Non-destructive testing ability.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
