Certified Veterinary Technician

About the role

VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-time Certified Veterinary Technician or license-eligible technician with surgical experience to join their team in Wilmington, North Carolina. The position offers flexible hours, including Saturdays, and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients and clients with compassion
• Perform client education and care
• Conduct venipuncture and catheter placement
• Assist with radiology and diagnostics
• Collect and process lab samples
• Prepare and administer anesthesia
• Monitor anesthesia
• Perform dental procedures
• Prepare and administer medications
• Handle and restrain patients safely and effectively
• Keep accurate medical records

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a veterinary assistant or similar level of experience as a veterinary technology student
• Experience with surgical procedures
• Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a positive team culture
• Owner's approach to care

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician
• License eligibility if not certified

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures

Pay

$16.00 - $20.00 / hour based on skill set, licensure status, and experience.

Schedule

Full time, Saturday rotation required.
