As a Veterinarian Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in providing excellent veterinary care and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and patients arriving for appointments or walk-ins and escort into an exam room.
- Obtain weight and vital signs, record in the electronic medical record, and document the patient visit.
- Aid veterinarians with appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasias under their supervision.
- Perform patient restraint, collect and process laboratory samples, administer medications, and maintain the electronic medical record.
- Schedule appointments, communicate with clients, relay test results, update inventory, and manage accounts receivable.
- Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, monitor anesthesia, assist with recovery, and prepare for discharge or transfer.
- Provide in-hospital treatments, ensure patient cleanliness, hydration, and feeding, and safely walk canine patients for elimination.
- Participate in training of new staff members and disseminate knowledge as required.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and provide backup phone and front desk support.
Requirements
- College or college-equivalent education (completed) as required for becoming a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state where the hospital is located.
- At least 1-year previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Calm and compassionate demeanor, capable of maintaining a professional attitude during emotional and stressful situations.
- Telephone and computer skills.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change.
Qualifications

Pay
