About the role
Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital is a AAHA-accredited, small animal general practice located in Windham, New Hampshire. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive veterinary care and strive to build strong relationships with both our clients and their pets.
Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy
- Catheter placement
- Cystocentesis
- Fine-needle aspirates
- Animal restraint
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Surgical prep
- Running treatments on appointments
- Stellar patient care
Requirements
- A certified veterinary technician, 1+ year experience preferred but not required
- We are open to new graduates from an AVMA accredited program that are waiting to take the VTNE
- Top-notch technical skills
- Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
- Computer skills a must! We are a paperless practice!
- Pays attention to detail and is a fast learner
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
- Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
- Knowledge in preventative care and hospital flow
- Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
- Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
- Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests, preferred but not required
- Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
- Proficient in anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
- A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
- Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
Qualifications
- Desired qualifications include Avimark experience and experience working in an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital
