About the role
The Certified Teacher will provide individualized and small-group instruction to children with autism, develop educational programming that supports each learner's unique needs, and collaborate with various professionals to help students achieve their educational and developmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, individualized instruction aligned with each student's educational goals.
- Develop lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to integrate educational and behavioral strategies into daily programming.
- Maintain accurate educational documentation and monitor student progress.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to inform instructional planning.
- Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and educational recommendations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, staff training, and professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state educational standards and organizational policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Current Texas Certification in both Special Education and General Education.
- A current valid Texas Driver’s License required.
- Experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction, individualized education planning, and positive behavior support strategies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality services to children and families.
Preferred Qualifications
- Special Education certification.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary clinical or therapeutic settings.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Experience developing individualized educational goals and progress monitoring systems.
