About the role

POSITION SUMMARY: To provide patient care under the direction of the RN, using the nursing process, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Del Sol Medical Center.

Del Sol Medical Center is a full service, acute-care hospital in east El Paso, Texas. We have a Level II trauma designation. This facility has 300+ patient beds. Our range of services include emergency care, cardiac care, women’s services, Level III NICU, rehabilitation, a bariatric clinic, and a Minimally Invasive Surgery Center. Del Sol Medical Center is part of Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare. We are a leading healthcare provider for El Paso and the surrounding region that is part of HCA Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments and supplies needed for surgical cases.
• Communicates, interacts and participates in teamwork on the unit.
• Practices, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
• Demonstrates knowledge and respect of the patients right to privacy and protection of patient confidentiality.
• Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the Registered Nurse.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.
• TS-C (Tech in Surgery - Certified), or (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist, or (NRST) Nationally Registered Surgical Technician.
