Certified Surgical Technologist 2 - TGH Surgery Center at Morsani

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sterile environment
• Ensure the functionality of equipment
• Support both invasive and non-invasive procedures

Requirements

• Graduate of CAAHEP Surgical Technology Programs OR Military Surgical Technology Program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Tech in Surgery (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing
• Three (3) years of surgical experience
• Demonstrated competency in at least five (5) surgical specialties

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in the first scrub role for complex surgical procedures
• Provides mentorship and guidance to peers and junior staff
• Utilizes critical thinking and advanced problem-solving abilities in high-stakes, complex surgical situations
• Applies in-depth knowledge of surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies
• Participates in the development of best practices and quality improvements
• Participates in continuing education initiatives
