About the Hospital

West Henderson Hospital is the seventh acute care hospital in The Valley Health System, located at the southwest corner of Raiders Parkway and St. Rose Parkway near the Las Vegas Raiders' headquarters. This 150-bed facility provides care for a variety of medical needs, including:

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions to ensure safe operations with optimal patient outcomes.
  • Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, attend to patients’ direct care needs.
  • Maintain integrity and compliance with policies.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members during surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrate dexterity sufficient for successful completion of assistant duties.
  • Maintain a professional attitude regarding patient dignity, privacy, and safety.
  • Function within the scope of practice as defined by medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and state law.

Requirements

  • Technical School/2 Years College/Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology (or board-eligible for SFA certification). Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of surgical tech experience required; five to eight (5-8) years preferred.
  • Current CSFA (NBSTSA), CSA (NSAA), or SA-C (ABSA) certification required. Certification must be maintained for employment.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
  • Continuing education to maintain and enhance clinical competencies related to perioperative or First Assisting practice.
