About the role

Seeking an experienced surgical technician with recent open-heart or cardiothoracic expertise. The role involves assisting the surgical team during procedures by preparing the operating room, creating sterile fields, passing instruments, supplies, and medications, and maintaining supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical cases with accurate equipment and supply checks
• Set up and maintain sterile fields and instrumentation
• Assist with instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts
• Transport patients and perform clerical duties as needed
• Ensure aseptic techniques and labeling solutions properly
• Perform housekeeping and equipment cleaning tasks

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate's/technical degree preferred
• Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification required
• Current BLS or CPR certification required
• Previous scrub technician and operating room experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and aseptic technique skills
