About the role

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Certified Surgical Tech for our Operating Room.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Surgical Team in providing a safe, appropriate, and culturally aware patient care
  • Helps surgeons during surgery by passing them instruments and other sterile supplies
  • Prepares the Operation Room with all the necessary supplies
  • Properly sterilizes required instruments and supplies
  • Serves as surgical assistant as needed
  • Aids in order and restocking Operating Room supplies and instruments

Requirements

  • High school or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program
  • One year hospital Operating Room experience preferred
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Qualifications

  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Skills

  • Ability to assist surgeons during surgery
  • Knowledge of sterile technique
  • Good organizational skills

Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40 hours per week
  • Typical Daily Schedule: 0650 AM–5:30PM, Monday through Friday
