About the Role

A Surgical Tech III in the Operating Room specializing in Cardiac and Liver procedures, assisting in surgical operations under the supervision of licensed caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical operations, including preparation of operating rooms and arrangement of equipment.
• Support procedures by handling instruments, assisting surgeons, and performing intra-operative counts.
• Ensure effective communication and teamwork with healthcare professionals.
• Maintain competency in caring for diverse patient populations, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Coordinate in-services, mentor new staff and students, and participate in department committees.
• Contribute to improving efficiency, budget planning, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Transport patients as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Vocational/technical training in surgical technology.
• Minimum of three years of experience in surgical procedures.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
