Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure.
• Maintain a sterile field during surgical cases.
• Provide surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the following surgical specialties: General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, GYN, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery/Neurospine.
• Perform cases laparoscopically, open, or robotically assisted.
• Assume roles such as primary scrub technician, camera holder, retractor holder, limb holder, or uterine manipulator on complex cases.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists with Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification, meeting AB No. 347; 79th Session (2017) requirements.
• Experience scrubbing procedures in generalized surgical specialties: General, Urology, Gynecology, Minor Vascular, Minor Orthopedics, and Minor Neurosurgery/Neurospine.
• Proficient in performing cases laparoscopically, open, or robotically assisted.
• Experience scrubbing minor procedures in specialty surgical areas.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
