About the role
The Surgical First Assistant, under the direction and supervision of the surgeon, provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions. The Surgical First Assistant may also perform preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate equipment is available.
- Review permit to confirm procedure.
- Assist in moving and positioning patient.
- Provide assistance throughout the procedure in a variety of surgical techniques.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program. Preferred: Associates degree.
- Experience: 3 years scrub and/or assisting experience. Required: Open Heart Experience. Required: Endo Vein Harvesting Experience.
- Certifications: BLS. Surgical Technology Certification. Surgical First Assistant certification.
Qualifications
- Licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy.
Skills
- Proven experience in surgical first assistant roles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Up to $10K SOB based on eligibility.
