About the role

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures including establishing and maintaining a sterile field, specimen handling, counts, medications/solutions, implants and instrument processing and may assist with circulating duties, as well as, participate in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures including establishing and maintaining a sterile field, specimen handling, counts, medications/solutions, implants and instrument processing.
• May assist with circulating duties.
• Participate in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department.

Requirements

• Require active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• Prefer knowledgeable of selected specialty.
• Prefer ability in one-on-one demonstration of sterile technique.

Qualifications

• BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
• CST: Certified Surg Technologist
