What You Will Do
- Demonstrates effective verbal communication skills.
- Makes daily rounds on nursing units and collects soiled equipment and instruments.
- Sorts, cleans, and sterilizes equipment including washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic, etc.
- Fulfills safety and security protocols according to department procedure manual.
- Assembles wraps and verifies instruments for sterilization according to Department procedures manual.
- Visually monitors expiration dates for sterile items and reprocesses any outdated items on a timely basis.
- Retrieves and issues items according to verbal or written requests.
- Maintains a clean environment including disinfecting countertops, wiping down racks, and other equipment according to department procedure.
- Demonstrates basic math skills when accounting for sterile supplies.
- Distinguishes and identifies various instruments.
- Operates Sterrad sterilizer.
- Performs any duties as assigned.
- Complies with all CSS policies and AAMI, AORN, and Infection Prevention standards as to biological/load record documentation, accuracy of instrument trays, and proper placement of all chemical indicators required for sterilization assurance.
Education Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Preferred Experience Qualifications
- Experience in Central Sterile Department is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified as Central Sterile Technician upon hire.

Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $22.00/hour.

Your final base compensation will be determined based on factors such as employment status (Full/Part-Time or Per Diem), skills, education, and/or experience. We also consider internal equity when making final offers.
