About the role

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive medical assistant services in a primary care setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex, chronic diseases and will be certified as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-visit planning and documentation
  • Assisting with patient examinations and diagnostic procedures
  • Medication review and administration
  • Documentation of patient vitals and medical history
  • Follow-up with patients regarding appointments, medications, and test results
  • Coordination with other healthcare providers and community resources
  • Ensuring patient satisfaction and quality of care

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Five years medical assistant experience with complex chronic disease management
  • Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA, or Registered Medical Assistant
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
  • CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician (ACA)

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in English language
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical practices and patient care
  • Ability to develop and maintain clinical quality assurance
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Computer skills for documentation and work-related purposes
  • Continuous training and education in department-specific requirements

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Five years medical assistant experience with complex chronic disease management
