About the role
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive medical assistant services in a primary care setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex, chronic diseases and will be certified as a Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Pre-visit planning and documentation
- Assisting with patient examinations and diagnostic procedures
- Medication review and administration
- Documentation of patient vitals and medical history
- Follow-up with patients regarding appointments, medications, and test results
- Coordination with other healthcare providers and community resources
- Ensuring patient satisfaction and quality of care
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Five years medical assistant experience with complex chronic disease management
- Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA, or Registered Medical Assistant
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician (ACA)
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in English language
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical practices and patient care
- Ability to develop and maintain clinical quality assurance
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Computer skills for documentation and work-related purposes
- Continuous training and education in department-specific requirements
Qualifications
