Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Foundation Health Partners (FHP) is looking for a Certified Respiratory Therapist to join their team. This position independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients in a variety of health care settings.

Pay & Benefits

• Compensation: $36.44 to $58.30 hourly wage based on experience and education
• Retention Bonus: $20,000 for eligible new hires

Schedule

• 1 Full-time, 36 hours per week, 3X12 hour Day Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• 1 Full-time, 36 hours per week, 3X12 hour Night Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Holidays and rotating weekend coverage required

ACLS and PALS certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures
• Applies and manages mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners; recommends adjustments to improve clinical condition, patient comfort, and to expedite the ventilator weaning process
• Assembles, disassembles, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, cleans, and performs adjustments in the applications of durable medical equipment and circuitry used in the delivery of respiratory care as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures
• Performs pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing as prescribed, and in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures
• Performs patient assessments and evaluates patient response to care provided; makes recommendations to physicians regarding the plan of care, appropriate use of respiratory therapy, and modification of therapy as clinical condition changes
• Documents therapy provided in an accurate and complete manner in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures
• Communicates and collaborates with resource staff in formulating care plans, making recommendations for changes to therapy, identifying and resolving problems, and refining procedures and techniques when confronted with unfamiliar situations
• Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards
• Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors each and every day

Requirements

• Associate or technical degree required
• Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• A current license in the state practiced as required by state law
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
• Basic knowledge of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment as typically obtained through 6 months of clinical experience
• Must possess highly effective human relation skills necessary to interface with patients, families, staff, and other healthcare personnel
• Foundation Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

Additional related education and/or experience preferred, including ALS, PALS, PFT, SDS, NPS, NRP, ACCS, and/or AE-C.
