CERTIFIED RECREATION THERAPIST (CTRS)

Compass Intervention Center is seeking a dynamic and talented Certified Recreational Therapist for our Acute Hospital. Responsibilities

• Assess client's leisure and recreational activities
• Provide age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups
• Establish behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Compass Intervention Center
• Create a safe environment for clients
• Provide direct supervision of clients
• Empower clients
• Teach new tools for coping to clients
• Demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to groups providing care to varied populations including children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, chemical dependency or dually diagnosed clients in a residential treatment facility setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Leisure Management, Recreational Therapy or other related field
• Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) required
• One year experience in working with a mental health population
• Prefer Activity Therapy experience
• Prefer knowledge of group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management
