Certified Public Accountant-Account Manager
About the role
The Certified Public Accountant–Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Warren, OH. This role manages a portfolio of clients, overseeing tax planning and tax return preparation for individuals, non-profits, and businesses. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, performing accounting and finance analyses, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Account Manager will coordinate attestation and consulting engagements, communicate directly with clients to address questions, and provide proactive recommendations to improve financial performance and planning. The role also involves collaborating with internal team members, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting process improvements within the firm. The expectation for the applicant filling this role is to be offered a direct pathway to an equity interest in the firm.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced credentials or specialized tax training are a plus
- Strong accounting and finance skills, including knowledge applicable to individuals, non-profits, and businesses
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements, with the ability to interpret results and identify variances
- Expertise in tax preparation, including individual, corporate, and non-profit returns, and familiarity with current tax laws and regulations
- Relevant experience in public accounting, client account management, or similar professional services environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues in accessible terms
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software, and strong Excel and general computer skills
- Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and ongoing professional development
