ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tests and adjusts water chemistry to meet State/County code standards and sanitation regulations, and equipment manufacturer's recommendations.
- Maintains and sanitizes pool decks, showers and other equipment/furniture in the wet area.
- Practices preventive maintenance for (but not limited to) pumps, suction lines, drains, hair and lint strainers, flow and control switches, flow meters, and gauges per American Family Fitness standards.
- Maintains an inventory of equipment and supplies and assures that sufficient supplies, materials and equipment are available for safe and efficient operation of pool systems.
- Reports all repairs and maintenance needed to any and all equipment pertaining to the pools' equipment and/or wet area.
- Maintains current knowledge of developments of pool equipment, facility renovation and maintenance techniques.
- Adheres to the maintenance, testing and cleaning schedule provided by the Aquatic Manager.
- Performs other related duties assigned by the Aquatic Manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) in English is preferred.
- One (1) year of related experience required.
- Must successfully complete and receive a CPO and/or AFO certification within 6 months of employment at American Family Fitness.
- Must hold and maintain CPR and AED Certifications.
- Knowledge of water chemistry, water testing, filtration, and mechanical operations is required.
- Available to work after hours and weekends, as required and maintain availability 24 hours a day to handle any problems that might arise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sit, swim, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to gesture, finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Moderate bending and stooping is required.
- The employee is required to use the telephone.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
